Met The Liminal Lab en Bayt al-Hikma – House of Wisdom staan twee laboratoriumprojecten in de startblokken. Beide initiatieven bevinden zich in een ontwikkelingsfase en vormen een ruimte voor onderzoek, experiment en uitwisseling.

The Liminal Lab is een artistiek traject en een collectieve praktijk die de onstabiele betekenissen van objecten, elementen, landschappen en narratieven onderzoekt. Het lab functioneert als een mobiel laboratorium waarin zeven kunstenaars transformatieve processen onderzoeken en waar kennis en artistieke resultaten gedeeld, gedocumenteerd en ontsloten worden.

Het traject ontvouwt zich via collectieve werkperioden, uitwisseling en kleine artistieke manifestaties. Het projectconcept is ontwikkeld door Dareen Abbas en Cees Vossen. Het ontstond vanuit een gezamenlijk en inhoudelijk proces, geïnspireerd op elementen van Dareens artistieke praktijk.

Met Bayt al-Hikma – House of Wisdom ontwikkelt Enkidu Khaled een nomadisch artistiek onderzoeksplatform, geïnspireerd op het historische Huis van Wijsheid in Bagdad. Binnen dit platform komen kunstenaars, wetenschappers en deelnemers uit diverse contexten samen om performatieve methodes te ontwikkelen rond herinnering, trauma en collectieve verbeelding.

With The Liminal Lab and Bayt al-Hikma – House of Wisdom, two laboratory projects are set to start. Both initiatives are in a developmental phase and provide a space for research, experimentation, and exchange.

The Liminal Lab is an artistic program and a collective practice that explores the unstable meanings of objects, elements, landscapes, and narratives. The lab functions as a mobile laboratory in which seven artists investigate transformative processes, and where knowledge and artistic outcomes are shared, documented, and made accessible.
The program unfolds through collective work periods, exchanges, and small artistic manifestations. The project concept was developed by Dareen Abbas and Cees Vossen. It emerged from a collaborative and content-driven process, inspired by elements of Dareen’s artistic practice.

With Bayt al-Hikma – House of Wisdom, Enkidu Khaled is developing a nomadic artistic research platform inspired by the historic House of Wisdom in Baghdad. Within this platform, artists, scholars, and participants from diverse contexts come together to develop performative methods around memory, trauma, and collective imagination.
